Staff Take Welsh Lessons
SAYERS STAFF TAKE UP ‘WELSH’ LANGUAGE LESSONS
Wednesday 10th March 2010
In our shops across North Wales, we provided our non-Welsh speaking staff with some lessons just in time for St David’s Day.
Jina Gwyrfai, from the North Wales Welsh for Adults, visited our Mold shop to teach basic Welsh phrases to the staff, giving them the confidence to meet and greet customers, take their orders and wish them well, in the national language.
In the run up to St David’s Day, we will also be selling limited edition Gingerbread biscuits, adorned with the Welsh dragon emblem.
Michael Quinlan Sayers MD said: “As a company, we pride ourselves on building excellent relationships with our customers. For this reason, we felt that teaching Welsh to the staff in our North Wales shops would be a useful as well as fun exercise, particularly with St David’s Day just a few days away.”
Jina Gwyrfai said: “This is a great initiative employed by Sayers, which we’re sure their customers will appreciate. We also hope other local businesses will follow suit and look to enhance the language skills of their staff”.
